What can we say about Puglia? Known as the “heel of the boot” of Italy, this magnificent region boasts rugged coastlines, unrivaled cuisine and architectural wonders.

Join Noble Peasant Travels as we explore this area that is quickly becoming the Tuscany of the south . While not as popular as many “go to” cities to the north, Puglia offers an unforgettable experience for the senses - without the crowds. We will visit some of our favorite places, such as :

Ostuni - “la citta’ bianca”, the white-washed midieval city with sweeping views of the Adriatic . Wander through its alleyways, arches, and staircases, and meet the local artisans and artists

Alberobello - a town like no other in the world! A UNESCO World Heritage site , it boasts of tiny white homes with conical roofs called “trulli” that have an almost fantasy-like appeal.

Matera - the “city of caves” is another UNESCO World Heritage site . While technically in the Basilicata region, Matera borders Puglia, and is a must see. It is one of the oldest cities in the world , dating back to 7000 BCE, and where its inhabitants lived in caves built into the rocks. Visually stunning, Matera offers an experience that cannot be duplicated anywhere else in the world.

We will also swim in the crystal clear waters of the Adriatic and have an epic cooking lessons from the “nonne” in Bari - known for their orecchiette pasta making skills.

As with each trip to Italy, Noble Peasant Travels carefully curates each experience and partners with the local community to provide an immersive - and hopefully - transformative experience.
